AGM Speaker Line Up
We’re excited to announce three excellent microgrid industry expert speakers from outside the NSMG-Net network will be speaking at our upcoming AGM in Montreal.
Jim Reilly is a consultant working on projects related to the integration of renewable energy into the distribution system, microgrids and related standards. He has facilitated use cases related to distributed control systems for microgrids that include wind, solar, fuel cells, gas generators and multiple storage technologies. Recently, he has worked closely with the Japanese New Energy and Industrial Development Organization on standards related to demonstration projects in New Mexico and Hawaii. A member of the IEEE Power Engineering Society he is a graduate of Georgetown University (B.S.) and Columbia University (M.B.A.).
Pieter de Koning is Manager of Technology Development at Hatch where he focuses on the development and commercialization of novel energy technologies. He manages Hatch’s Microgrid Controller development program where he leads a team of engineers developing a novel controller that handles both economic dispatch of distributed generators and high speed power quality fluctuations using Hatch patented technology. Pieter also helps manage Hatch’s relationships with EnerTech, their portfolio companies, SDTC as well as numerous research institutes within Canada.
John Mulrooney is a professional electrical engineer and is Director, Smart Grid Technologies at PowerStream. John has responsibility for all aspects of PowerStream’s Smart Grid Strategy and Plan as well as the evaluation of new technologies being considered by the company. John heads PowerStream’s internal 10 member Smart Grid Task Force, a cross-departmental team of the most senior company executives responsible for implementation of Smart Grid initiatives. John sits on many of the provincial Smart Grid committees responsible for Smart Grid vision, policy and standards in Ontario and is a board member of Smart Grid Canada. John holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Waterloo, Ontario.
