NSMG-Net Students at UTC Canada
On September 10th, two NSMG-Net students attended the 2012 Canadian Utility Telecom Conference (UTCC), held at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre Hotel.
Here is a brief report from one of them, Moein Manbachi from SFU/BCIT (Project 3.4):
Sina Mashayekhi (UBC, Project 3.1) and I presented our research at the UTCC student poster session last week. This session was a great opportunity for students to network and present research to utilities and energy companies across Canada, and to their technology partners.
We received valuable feedback and hints from industrial experts, which will enable our research studies to have maximum practical application. Events such as these can really help students bridge the gap between research studies and real industrial issues.
I wish to thank in particular Dr. Sara Bavarian who organized the poster session and kindly assisted students during the conference.
